5-Minute Chia Cherry Jam🍒

Honestly, making your own jam sounds like a massive chore, but this 5-minute chia cherry version is literally a game changer. It skips all the heavy refined sugar and uses tiny chia seeds to thicken up the sweet mashed fruit naturally. It is a completely low-effort, high-reward situation that tastes so good swirled into morning yogurt bowls, loaded onto pancakes, or just slathered over toast!😉

Method

  1. Mash and Prep: Place your pitted cherries into a bowl. Mash them well with a fork to release their juices, then transfer everything into a small pot.
  2. Mix Everything: Add your chia seeds, lemon juice, and cane sugar (or honey) into the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Bring to a Boil: Turn your stovetop heat up to high and bring the fruit mixture to a full boil, stirring occasionally so it does not burn. The moment it boils, immediately turn the heat down to medium. Simmer for approx. 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
  4. Cool and Store: Pour the hot jam directly into a clean glass jar and seal it tightly with the lid. Let it come to room temperature on your counter, then store it in the fridge! 😉You can also enjoy it hot, for example over ice cream :)
