Prosciutto & Cranberry Savory Twists

This recipe inspired by BRIGHTMOMENTCO is just flaky puff pastry twisted up with savory prosciutto and gooey cheese, balanced out with some sharp mustards and sweet cranberry jam for that perfect bite. It’s simple, delicious, and the best thing to whip up when you have people over 🙂

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1-2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1-2 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2-3 tbsp cranberry jam
  • thin prosciutto slices (measure with heart)
  • 1 handful of Eidam (any cheese is fine)
  • 1 handful of Pecorino or Parmesan
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
Egg wash
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp water

Method

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll your cold puff pastry sheet onto a clean workspace. Sprinkle on some flour and roll out gently.
  2. Stellka's Tip: If you have cracks in your puff pastry just put a few drops of water on them and spread the water with your finger until the cracks disappear :)
  3. The Flavor Base: On one half of the puff pastry, spread an, even layer of the Dijon and whole grain mustard. On the other half, spread the cranberry jam.
  4. The Fillings: Lay the prosciutto slices flat over the mustard side. Generously sprinkle the grated Eidam and grated Pecorino evenly over the prosciutto. Sprinkle on some black pepper on top of the cheeses.
  5. Stellka's Tip: You can use any cheeses you have on hand ;)
  6. Fold & Cut: Carefully lift the cranberry-coated side of the pastry and fold it completely over the mustard side. Press the edges down to seek the edges. Use a sharp knife to slice the pastry into strips about 2 cm (3/4 inch) wide.
  7. Twist & Brush: Pick up each strip and gently twist it 3 to 4 times from the ends to form a spiral. Place the twists onto your prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with beaten egg wash and sprinkle on some salt and sesame seeds.
  8. Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes until the puff pastry is fully puffed, crisp, and deeply golden brown. Let them cool for 5 minutes on the tray so the melted cheese sets before serving and enjoy ;)

Notes

How to Store & Reheat
If you happen to have any leftovers, simply pop them into an airtight container and keep them in the fridge for up to 3 days. To get that fresh-out-of-the-oven, crisp texture back, reheat them in an oven or air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for about 3 -5 minutes. Try to avoid the microwave, as it will make the puff pastry go soft and soggy!
